The Story Behind BRUNCHING Collection

A New Chapter: The Birth of BRUNCHING
BRUNCHING Collection started during a big change in my life, as I transitioned from a career in marketing to pursuing my passion for graphic design as an illustrator.
My love for creating art and my obsession with brunch culture came together in the most unexpected way. One day, after brunch at one of my favorite spots in London, an image popped into my head—a woman with eggs covering her nipples. I couldn’t shake it, so I rushed home to sketch it out. And after my fifth cup of coffee that day, I accidentally hit my mouse and stretched her neck super long. Funny enough, I loved it! Something about the playful, faceless, long-neck look felt like it could be anyone’s imagination.
The First BRUNCHING Piece: Meet “The Vegan Eggs”
That design became my first BRUNCHING piece. I hand-painted it onto a pink denim jacket I loved, and when I wore it out, people couldn’t stop reacting. They laughed, asked questions—it was a conversation starter. I ended up naming it “The Vegan Eggs” because, well, they’re the only eggs a vegan can ‘eat’—cheeky, fun, and full of personality.
What’s in a Name? The Story of BRUNCHING
People often ask me, “Why BRUNCHING?” Well, the “Brunch” comes from my love (okay, obsession) with brunch—exploring cool spots and sharing those moments with friends. The “ING” reflects something you do constantly, like my never-ending creativity and love for brunch. It’s about an ongoing passion for art, food, and good vibes.
More Girls, More Fun: Expanding the Collection
I didn’t stop at one design; I created more “girls,” each with different skin tones and quirky ingredients covering their nipples. One had avocados (“Avocado on Top”), another had croissants (“Not Plain”), and the third had bacon (“Meatless Bacon”).
The more I wore my jackets, the more reactions I received. This inspired me to call my friend Sonida, a talented photographer, along with my friend Gianna, an amazing hairdresser, and two other friends, Francesca and Theodora. We organised our first photoshoot at a basketball court in my neighbourhood, and it was an unforgettable day filled with laughter and creativity. We started posting the jackets online, and to my excitement, orders began to come in!
From Markets to Pop-Ups: Spreading the Word
At one point, I wanted to get the word out, and I’ll never forget when my friend Rania gave me the chance to join a market she was organizing with an advertising agency she worked for. That market was a turning point, giving me the push to participate in more markets and pop-ups.
Home Sweet Home: BRUNCHING in Cyprus
Later, I moved back to Cyprus. I was a little nervous about bringing this concept to a smaller island, but when I asked my pappou (grandfather) what he thought about it, he loved it! If my pappou said yes, I knew I had to expand BRUNCHING. And, of course, having a supportive group of friends and family gave me the motivation to keep going, even when things got tough. My mom, especially, has always been there, cheering me on and encouraging me to never stop.
Making BRUNCHING Accessible: A Journey of Learning
That’s when I decided to make BRUNCHING more accessible. I threw myself into learning about fashion and printing, and eventually, we found ways to maintain high quality while making the designs more affordable. Today, we use screen printing and focus on sustainability wherever we can.
BRUNCHING: More Than Just Fashion
But here’s the thing: BRUNCHING isn’t just a fashion brand. It’s wearable art, designed for fun moments—like brunch with friends or when you want to add a little color to your day. It’s playful, vibrant, and makes you feel good every time you put it on.
We’re a small business, so whatever we do at BRUNCHING, it’s made with a lot of hard work from me and my team. We’re constantly learning and improving, so join us on this journey! Every time someone purchases and wears our designs, it’s super special for us.
